God acts with grace; we respond with gratitude.  God claims us as beloved children; we proclaim God's saving love.  God redeems us from sin and death; we rejoice in the gift of new life.

Worship

Christian worship gives all glory and honor, praise and thanksgiving to the holy and triune God.  We are gathered in worship to glorify the God who is present and active among us--particularly through the gifts of Word and Sacrament.  Then, we are sent out in service to glorify the same God who is present and active in the world.

                                                                         (Book of Order W-1.0101)

Worship, mostly traditional, with some contemporary aspects on occasion, takes place Sunday's at 11am where you will find the Pastor leading responsive readings, prayers are offered, hymns are sung, there is laughter, much joy, a sermon based upon the Bible, and at least once a month, the sacrament of the Lord's Supper.  Our Choir Director, Brooke Rice, and, Pianist James Moyer, are tremendously talented and extremely dedicated musicians who have been gifted by God in leading both the Choir and the congregation in worship.  They are persons of deep faith who minister for our edification through music.

BECOME A PART OF OUR FAMILY

The great African church father Augustine said that our hearts are naturally restless until they find their rest in God.  Churches vary in size, design, place, make-up -- but one thing you will discover is that the people that make up the church are people who are seeking -- perhaps just as you are -- for something beyond themselves, something greater, deeper, more meaningful.  They are not perfect, they have made mistakes, and are flawed, as we all are--but they seek to be better and to be shaped each week by Word and Worship.

ABOUT US

We're a small loving historic country church just outside of celebrated York, South Carolina founded in 1828 by locals.  Here you will find friends who will become family.   You will find our arms and hearts are open.  Everyone is invited and welcome regardless of color, past, orientation, strengths or weaknesses.  We are all God's beloved children.  Proudly involved in the community for decades -- we put people first, where the Bible is read and studied sincerely, and the Reformed faith is lived and put into practice daily.  You'll find that we seek to live out faithfully the first question of the Westminster Shorter Catechism (What is the chief end of humanity) as a map for living--to glorify God and enjoy God forever.
